Landing on unresolved A over an E chord without resolving it back into an E chord probably through a G# just sounds ambiguous and poorly formed to my ear. Sounds like you want to superimpose the IV chord over the I, which is a cool trick, but you need to resolve it to make sense. The second riff around a minute in might be the basis for an entire 12 bar blues by itself. Though there is nothing real interesting about the line, by repeating it at a different pitch level over the IV chord, and then having a counter answering line over V, you at least have something approaching a coherent blues melody with a sense of motif.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Broadjam Artist: FRED GROSSSong: Boogie n’ BluesReviewer: Jeff MaguirePositive Comments: Traditional blues gone synth mad, hell yea.Constructive Comments: Some of the guitar lines in the opening phrase are out of key and not in an especially cool or i…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-34387","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34387","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=34387"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34387\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":34388,"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34387\/revisions\/34388"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=34387"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=34387"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/broadjamreviews.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=34387"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
