Song: Hold The Mic Down – Tha Bishop featuring Phaze Seven & Daz Jones

Reviewer: Jeff Roberts

Positive Comments: I was going to say the backing instrumentals sound like a stereo playing in the background, but then it kicks in with real sound. This is very heavy and ominous, and the groove is really catchy. Very effective. I’m not current on Rap but this reminds me a lot of Ludacris (first voice).

Constructive Comments: Niggas, violence, and alpha male law of the jungle essence throughout the lyrics. Yeah it’s what sells but is it lifting the people up? That’s a philsophical critique. Musically this is solid.

Positive Comments: Great intro this could be Earth, Wind, and Fire but then you settle into a Lee Ritenour vibe. Every instrument is in the pocket with great tone and super playing. If you told me that this was The Yellowjackets I’d believe it. Superb!!

Constructive Comments: Maybe the bass is too loud? That’s splitting hairs though. This is excellent work that should be on a Smooth Jazz radio program.

Positive Comments: Great job. I love the chords on this piece. It really is a beautiful song. Great guitar lead and instrumentation. Your voice of instruments work very well here.

Constructive Comments: On your hook, you guitar riffs are a little stacatto…short. I would suggest sustaining them a little more so your notes don’t just cut off. It will make for a smoother sounding intro. Maybe just a little more work on the mix bring up the low end a little more in the mix to balance out. Other than that, this is a great piece.

Positive Comments: This could definitely fit into a film score, country video. Recording was fairly good. Guitar work was good. Nice tune for just an acoustic and vocal. Keep up the good work!

Constructive Comments: Nothin gmuch here to add. In certain parts, the vocals seemed to rush a little, timing was off.. But you can get away with that since it was only a guitar and vocals track.

A Life In Question / Soundtrack by Uncle Spider & The Electric Dirt Clods

Song: A Life In Question / Soundtrack

Reviewer: Rin Vinson

Positive Comments: Even though there aren’t any lyrics or vocals on this song, it has a clear, pronounced hook. A great one at that. For some reason I visualize a scene in a movie, tv show, and or ad that would be a night time time frame. Possibly raining. The groove the drums and bass are laying down is simple and fat (in a great way). The guiro is a nice touch. The guitar playing and tone are excellent. Once again…very simple but completely effective. The recording, composition, mix, and master are all high grade and professional. Thanks for sharing.

Constructive Comments: Nothing negative to say. I listened three times and I can’t find anything I would change. I would keep my eyes open for a placement that has to do with night time. I enjoyed the track very much and I think it should do well for you.
