Sailing the Caribbean by Paul Messina

Positive Comments: Very nice sound – I especially like the piano runs, really has a very staccato sound, I also like the sax – very cool!

Constructive Comments: Not a lot of negatives – very professional sounding tune, I think the saxophone may take over this a piece a little too much even though it sounds fantastic! Instead of a flat top guitar – I would like to hear a little more of an edge with a lead electric guitar – best wishes and may God bless!

Double Wide by Billy Pilgrim

Positive Comments: Wow…Epic piece here. Excellent job all the way around. In a word, I would say muscular. All instrumentation was composed appropriately and everything compliments one another seamlessly. The horns and the percussion section push hard while the strings create an anticipation of something large on its way. I visualize a scene in a tv show or movie where people, animals, cars etc…are running away from something large and menacing. The composition, recording, mix, and master are all 100% professionally done. Thanks for sharing.

Constructive Comments: Nothing negative to say here. The piece should do well. I really enjoy quality compositions and recordings and this delivers on all fronts. Thanks for sharing and good luck with it.

We’ve Never Let Go Of Our Dream (Pop) by Chet Nichols

Positive Comments: Nice recording. Clean intro draws in the listener. Kind of Latin feel, could apply a Bossa Nova(ish) on this one. Nice Chorus. Very beautiful chord progression, good groove and I like the arrangement I loved the Coda where you grooved on the reprise to the fade… You don’t hear music written like that much anymore so the more I hear it the more happy I am. So many good things about this track, love the live feel and respect for the song writer!! Al the elements are there and shinning… super nice bridge and guitar break leading back to the hook. There are too many great hooks in this song to count!

Constructive Comments: Would have liked a more prominent drum track. The drum machine parts are buried leaving me feeling something is missing sonically. My man Chet, you and I need to do a collaboration…… If you have something laying around that needs drums, it’s on me. 🙂

Positive Comments: Nice overall production. This is an excellent track for a film or TV spot. It really stikes me as perfect for a tv show theme song. Nicely done!

Constructive Comments: Not much here to say. The only thing that stood out to me was the distortion. Once the music kicks in the vocals fade a little into the mix also. I would bring them up just a touch.

Just Another Day by Marc S. Pate

Positive Comments: i like the combination of instruments. the voice sounds nice with the tone used. great start and come in. nice job on that.

Constructive Comments: I think a better mix would suit this. you have some good horses here, worth a little more feed. not that it will do well as it is. the voice is close enough to pass, but Melo-dyne used at about 75% would make this smash in my opinion.Am I ever satisfied? No. No. No. It’s what music teacher do, it’s what my two piano teacher Aunts did to me. They refused to give you a perfect score. I hated them for it then, but now I realize that they loved me so much they wanted me to be perfect–for real. Straight Ahead Brother! catnip pat

Positive Comments: Nice bright recording. Could definitely be used for soundtrack purposes or music synching to something like TWC. I think a little more bass would help, but its nice the way it is.

Constructive Comments: Not much to say here. It gets a little repetitous after about 2 minutes.

Positive Comments: This is a great jazz piece. Loved the vocals, a cross of Billie Holiday and Nancy Wilson. Great instrumentation comma and I love the old Jazz feel. This reminds me of the music my uncle played as a drummer with jazz great Jay McSmhann. Very impressive music and I loved every moment of it. Well done!

Constructive Comments: No criticism to offer.
