Positive Comments: Are you in a club along the southern coast of France? This electronic dance tune has shades of techno with echoes, blips, clicks, and midi tricks. The soft female voice is a nice contrast to the techno background. Lyrically very simple, the words begin with anticipation for the night. What happens after that? You decide.

Constructive Comments: Well, since I’ve scored it as such, time for an explanation. The most striking thing is that the melody does not match the expectation of the title or lyrics. The song anticipates the night but does not follow through with excitement. It comes across as a tiny pop rather than a BOOM. Does that mean it’s a bad melody? Of course not! It’s a good melody for a different subject. How about marketability? It’s really bizarre what the reviewers and publishers may actually choose but I would try to be practical in what mood they’re going for. If it’s a dance tune about a night of having fun, then it may follow to have a tune that pumps it up. Is it original? Well, for this song I’m not sure it has to stand out in a unique way. Lots of songs with a similar message do make it. Hook and arrangement: we’re back to the melody. I think it would work and garner more stars with a subject more relaxed rather than excitement. Would I like to hear more from this artist? I wish that wasn’t a question…it’s really not fair based on one song. I have to say the simple to the point lyrics work very well for a dance song. There is no problem with the production or finesse with the instruments. Vocals are perfect.

Positive Comments: Counterpoint with a modern touch perhaps, makes this interesting and new.Harpsichord played well can be understood to remember its classical era mostly. But with a mixture of some more modern theme hinted is placing this piece classical yet more modern. I love these “talking” questions and answers but not overly flamboyant!

Constructive Comments: Well, as is it is excellent, but I was waiting for another intruction to a Part B or C and then returning to the original parts. It doesnt need to of course and it stands nearly perfect with its strong statement and embelishment.Maybe some other instrument or part to complete a duet might be something to enhance the flavor of this classical feel. Pick one! String or early wind instrument. Its fine the way it is and addition might only confuse the original purpose. +++++

Song: Bach Air in G Whiz I/Featuring Felice Kaye and Ross Cooper

Reviewer: jim Finan

Positive Comments: Introduction is interesting while being hard to pinpoint the exact type of classical style or time period because it fits in rather neatly with a couple at least. The instrumentation is interesting with the organ and keeps the exact placement guessing. Nice counterpoint. The flow is constantant and the B section is amost mystical as it flows along to a close.

Constructive Comments: Depending of course on the timeperiod expressed, more variance might be achieved using rhythmic mixture and occasional surprising chord or a pause to keep the audience focused on where the music is leading to. The usual change of key,or harmonal variance could always be used too. All of this is of course subject to the ideas of the composer and left alone it stands elegantly!

Positive Comments: I like the chnge in the accents and dynamic changes with a mixture of instrumentation and interesting assaults on the melody with the style attached. Much deversity is obtain throughout and the belove harp is not forgotten with the flute complimenting the chords with a flamboiyant sparkle. The structture is kepy interesting with many orchestral instumental changes adding to the interest in a mixture of flavors.

Constructive Comments: It is of course up to you the composer to decide what you want to hve in your piece and performance. That being said I could only add a couple of embeilishments to further project an already excellent score. The usual things like key change, Tempo change keeping the integrity of the ideas, and mybe an introduction of another counter melody or contrasting idea. Its great standing as is!

Positive Comments: I really like the addition of a fiddle and the hook is dominate throughout. Strong beat and nice fade out at the end. Lyrical story that is easily understood ,positive. Clever description of the woman in the story -song. A very down to earth welcoming back to a woman who was admired when she was in this town!

Constructive Comments: I am mostly a classical listener bit I can appreciate the musical initiative of any composer and performer. I assume you are the vocalist here. Id like to here a deviation in the melody and introduce a bridge to enhance interst even more! A change of key and of the tempo maybe but not upsetting the essence of the idea. The composer hs the final say of course and the composition is respected as it is.
