Positive Comments: You’re no Maria Carey but you know how to write a good song with a great arrangement. Music followed your vocal performance nicely. The drop was a typical “tear in my beer” drop, but I felt you were on par for your genre and you did a great job with your lyrical content as well. There’s a few mix issues I think could be addressed, and sure, a new vocalist would sell this much more quickly… but this is a solid demo. I can picture any established country artist buying you out on this one. Good work.
Constructive Comments: Back up vocals. Humming. La las or something for the chorus would benefit you greatly. Some mix revisions and modernisation in your sound would likely help a lot too. I’d offer, but this would be a challenge for me, I’d also be too tempted to bring you into a Pop genre while I was there. And then things would get freaky, I’d pull out an orchestra and a bunch of synths, and then nurses would come out to drug you and reassure you to “Relax, your demo will be just fine” as a chainsaw starts up in the back room. I’ll just presume you’d prefer to avoid that… and would gladly refer you to a capable producer in Phoenix that has a staff better equiped to replicate your band and performances. Although… If you just need some engineering? I bet I could do a lot here. I charge an average of 50 an hour… but would cap a price on this mix at $150 USD. I like the song. I think you could do more with it though. A lot more. I do remixing too… But you’d be officially packing your bags for Oz at that point. Hope its all useful.
