Positive Comments: Vocalist is a stellar presence. I could see her finding a lot of work with the right producers. Recording on her was fantastic as well. Very clear and understandable content. This production falls more in the country bracket than it does pop. Pop has changed. Doesn’t mean this production isn’t a good one. Strong points are the lyrical content and the vocalist. Had a wonderful bridge section that a lot of producers just tend to forget about. Great arrangement for what it is. Covers all of the formula. Needs a little work to modernise the sound for today’s radio “top 10 hits” genre but would surely find support with a fan base.

Constructive Comments: I want you to load up some Britney Spears. Some Tori Amos. Garbage. Katy Perry. Any of them will do. Now compare your mix to what’s going on there. You will find that their guitars have presence, the kick fills the low end and offers a good snap, any kind of keys have a great stereo image, effects are somehow present yet don’t overwhelm the mix, you’ll hear a lot of differences between the way you’re engineering this and what actually sells these days. You’ve got a solid arrangement, but… I’d add back up vocalist surely, get some counter rhythms and harmonies going, make it feel like Queen for your choruses regarding backups, you know? Then get your mix under control. Hire a professional or just learn up on your own. Keep comparing your mix to the pros. This is key. Good luck, God bless.
