Positive Comments: For me it’s sort of Southern Rock mixed with Jethro Tull if that’s possible. (Southern Prog Rock?)

Constructive Comments: It’s rocking from the start with a traditional Rock intro and I’m in, although thinking it’s going to be a bit unoriginal but then the singer comes in and with that verse too, throws me a Prog Rock curve ball, it’s all very eclectic and I’m working out what’s going on and whether I like the voice. So I play it again and it’s growing on me. I mean it’s different which is cool. It’s a great hook and you make the most of that with the harmonies too. And the song’s got some humour in it also. It’s an acquired taste but I can’t fault, people are either going to love it or hate it and I think I’m liking it quite a lot.It could easily play on rotation on a Southern Radio station (I’m English but used to live in N. Carolina), and hearing it there I’d be certain it was a stone cold classic I’d never heard of.

Positive Comments: I like the Barclay James Harvest kind of vibe to it.

Constructive Comments: The recording is very muddy to be fair. I think it takes too long to bring in the vocal. It’s quite nice Barclays James Harvest kind of feel or something (Maybe that’s just my reference!). But for me there’s not quite enough going on musically or hook wise, I like a busy mix though. I don’t think there’s enough vocal either. I quite like the laid back vocal but I can’t quite hear the lyrics. I’m totally an amateur though, but my thoughts.

Constructive Comments: I like the vocals but they are too loud in the mix for me. And I really like that deep bass sound, evoking the wind and the American desert somehow for me, and the feel/mood to it all is great. I think you could do more to highlight that bass and feature that with a bit of variety or something. The lead guitar is not quite sitting right in the mix for me though, and there’s some glitches I’m hearing rather than features. But I like the Strat (I’m guessing) rhythmic pluck sound overall. But I need a middle eight or something, it’s a bit one shaded at the moment, it’s a nice shade but I need another shade to play against it. But there’s a nice mood, worth working on would be my view.

Positive Comments: It has a nice feel, it’s a swinging bar I’m in and I’d certainly go there anticipating a good time.

Constructive Comments: Overall it’s a bit ragged for me, loose is good for the mood and fine for live but the band or recording isn’t totally tight. I quite like the hoarse backing vocal but it’s a bit too panned for me and then the main vocal is too front and loud toward the end.I want a bit more structure overall, a little bit of an intro and probably more consistency in the guitar licks to latch onto.

Positive Comments: I like it. I preferred it on the second listening. The verses are pretty good when listening to them, I feel like there’s an interesting story going on and the feeling of energy, need to escape is good.

Constructive Comments: To really hit home with me I probably would want a bit more variety in the Chorus maybe one stanza not being “Run away…” or a break in the singing… Middle 8 is fine but not really quite giving me a breather from the main theme. And I want more of those vague voices off, it sort of hints at a mood of confusion, people running but not in the mix enough for me.So it’s sort of a bit of Kaiser Chiefs, bit of Muse. It’s good but just a touch more something like the above would mean I’d listen over. Sure I’m just an Amateur but my those are my thoughts as a punter.

Positive Comments: This sounds great as a soundscape to me BUT I want to hear a great vocal on it. I’m an amateur so I don’t know but there’s probably a market for this as an instrumental, backing music for TV or something. But the music is plenty powerful and interesting to support a vocal, it’s just all about that vocal, you tell me what it’s all about.

Constructive Comments: You need a vocal and lyrics. I mean there’s plenty of mood and themes there to hook into for it. There’s that instrument almost playing a melody and almost singing going on. Give me some singing man, it’s a hit.
