Positive Comments: This is a POWERFUL song about racial injustice, lynching in the deep south of Georgia. Excellent way to open up the story line “There’s a tree in Georgia that never should have grown” grabs the listener’s attention right away. The gruesome story that follows is heart-breaking, but so amazingly told. I love the gospel-tinged chorus that infuses the song with hope. The bridge is compelling. Forty eyes, forty legs, topped off with my favorite rhyme: saw/law. This is folk music writing/singing/performing at its finest. I can see this in a documentary. Highest praise for this composition and performance to the songwriter.

Constructive Comments: It floored me how you could have such an upbeat tune to such a terrible story. But it works the whole thing works. I’m not complaining, only commenting. I’d like to know the story behind how you came to write this song. It seems to me like you could add another verse too it. It almost ended too quickly. If you did, I would insert it right after verse one, before the first chorus. FIVE STARS! By the way, I loved your guitar playing, too! Mrs. Kate

Positive Comments: Here’s a rock song about a one night stand with a girl who has a scar over her eye, a compelling subject that makes you wonder why and want to hear “the rest of the story.” Nice rock power intro leads nicely into the song. Lots of vivid word pictures are used to tell the story. Favorite rhyme: wine/valentine. Good job telling the story and sticking to the subject.

Constructive Comments: I think the chorus is out of your range. Way too low. Down in the dregs…it made it hard to hear the lyrics. I think I caught the “roses are red violets are blue” but like I said, it was hard to make out the entire chorus. Either bring it up in the mix or change the key a 1/2 or whole step higher. Or you could add a higher harmony? The ending seemed too abrupt. One night stand songs. Personally, they make me very sad. Not that your song is poorly written…it’s well-written. It is my personal belief that the Lord created sex for marriage and one night stands are just plain hurtful and wrong, against the biblical commandments about fornication and adultery. You can call me an old fogey if you want, but if it’s a true story, I feel sorry for you and for the girl. The good news is that Jesus is the great healer of broken hearts. There are a lot of hurting hearts out there that need healing. If yours is one of them, I hope you will find Jesus, or He will find you!

Positive Comments: Loved the solo …..reminiscent of Muse here but only a tad . Absolutely loved the build up after the solo and the effect on the guitar solo at the end was great.

Constructive Comments: The only thing I would say concerning the mix is that perhaps the level on the vocal could do with maybe coming up a bit at the start. I like the effect of the vocal – it’s great but it could do with being a it clearer so I can hear watch ya singing’

Positive Comments: a near perfect effort from a talented group…moody, downbeat rock that succeeds musically & lyrically. this is a very professional group of musicians & songwriters. the vocalist nails the mood & tempo.

Constructive Comments: to make this song even more memorable I would mix the vocals more upfront in the pre-chorus, and I’d do a funky EQ treatment (like a bullhorn/loud hailer) and add a nice Delay to double-tap the vocals. I would love to remix this song.

Positive Comments: I enjoy the bass intro…kinda caught me off guard but in a good way.the overall production is good. I think I need to hear another chord change somewhere. Thats just me. Are you trying to use this in a movie or tv? I can see that. Good job

Constructive Comments: Sometimes withe instrumentals you keep waiting for a hook-type section. However for me after the initial bass intro and the things to follownothing really changed that much. It might not matter if a music supervisor like it for a scene or something. I liked it
